Different groups of people are affected in different ways by COVID-19. Most infected people experience mild to moderate symptoms and recover without hospitalization.

Loss of taste or smell
2. Less common symptoms are:
Sore throat
Headache
Soreness and pain
Diarrhea
Rash, discoloration of fingers or toes
Red or inflamed eyes
3. Serious symptoms include:
Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
Speech or movement difficulties, or confusion
Chest pain

People with mild symptoms who were otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
Typically, patients develop symptoms 5–6 days after contracting the virus, but symptoms may not appear until 14 days later.
