Is Easysweet Amphetamine (AMP) Rapid Test based on the concentration

The Easysweet Amphetamine (AMP) Rapid Test (urine) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the detection of amphetamine in human urine with a cut-off concentration of 1000 ng/mL.

Materials provided by Easysweet Amphetamine (AMP) Rapid Test Kit:

1. AMP test device

The test consists of mouse monoclonal anti-amphetamine antibody-conjugated particles and amphetamine-protein conjugates. Use goat antibodies in a control line system.

AMP Rapid Test Kit Background Information

Amphetamines are a prescription-available substance (Dexedrine®) that is also commercially available. Amphetamines are a class of potent sympathomimetic agents with therapeutic applications. They are chemically related to the body's natural catecholamines: epinephrine and norepinephrine. Acute high doses enhance stimulation of the central nervous system and cause euphoria, alertness, decreased appetite, and feelings of increased energy and strength. Cardiovascular responses to amphetamines include increased blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmias. More dramatic reactions produce anxiety, paranoia, hallucinations, and psychotic behavior. The effects of amphetamine generally last 2-4 hours after administration, and the half-life of the drug in the body is 4-24 hours. About 30% of the amphetamine is excreted unchanged in urine,

Easysweet Amphetamine (AMP) Rapid Test Principle

Easysweet Amphetamine (AMP) Rapid Test (Urine) is a fast chromatographic immunoassay based on the principle of competitive binding. Drugs that may be present in the urine sample compete with the drug conjugate for binding sites on the antibody. During the test, the urine sample migrates upwards by capillary action. If the amphetamine level in the urine sample is less than 1000 ng/mL, the binding sites of the antibody-coated particles will not be saturated in the test. The antibody-coated particles will then be captured by the immobilized amphetamine conjugate and a visible colored line will appear in the test line area. If the amphetamine level exceeds 1000 ng/mL, the test line area will not form a colored line because it saturates all the binding sites of the anti-amphetamine antibodies.

Drug-positive urine samples will not produce a colored line in the test line area, while drug-negative urine samples or samples containing drug concentrations below the cut-off value will produce a line in the test line area. As a program control, a colored line will always appear in the control line area, indicating that the appropriate volume of sample has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
